Marketing…..Soul of the business

You may be familiar with the term ‘Marketing’ but I believe that you would be in deep confusion about this concept. I mean that you or most of you understand marketing, just advertising or sales promotion. But in reality it is not what you thinking. The easy way I suggest you to understand any concept is to analyze definition of the term. Here I’m going to remove your confusion by presenting you precise definitions of it.

Marketing is the process of production and selling.
It is the basic definition that we every one know.

Marketing is social and managerial process.
It means that marketing deals with society.

Marketing is a process of “taking customer care”.
The most acceptable definition of  marketing.

In real sense marketing is customership, means marketing provide to costumers what they want. For example, If a person want a mobile set and go out and find it at right place in right time and in right price then it means marketing has done it job.
We can say that marketing is a process to satisfy customer wants.
Food, shelter and clothes are our need, and it is our desire that food should be of  good taste, and clothes to be of high quality, it is our behavior. A good marketer must know consumer behavior. We all want to purchase a product due to reasons below.
Quality Product.
Reasonable Price.
Product having Guarantee and Warranty.
Means that you need such like T.V set that having good quality minimum price that you would afford and product you are going to purchase should have warranty. If someone fulfill your desire it means he providing you good services that is marketing. So every one buy goods and services according to his purchasing power.
Therefore, a good company always keep in mind the purchasing approach of customer and divide market into different parts that is called ‘Marketing Segmentation’. It means that company can divide the city into three segments, a market for upper class, middle class and for a lower class. Where it will supply it product for every type of customer, and it will have to do so because Marketing is a process of “Taking customer care”.
In this world of today, where there is very much competition exist among the competitors, if one wants to capture market or to remain in market it must advertise or to promote it products through other channels. Marketing can be said the soul of the business.
No organization can survive in market without marketing.
For example when a company makes a new product, or when it want to increase it demand in the market or when it product reach at maturity level or when the product go toward decline, than how will we control this situation? It is just a marketing who will introduce the new product in market and will boost it demand and maintain it demand at it maturity level (hard launching; means high advertising) and help the company not to leave the firm off market due to decline of product. All these things to be achieved by analysis of Geography, Demography and Psychology of the peoples that in marketing called Marketing Research  It is only way to increase profitability of the organization.
We should conclude that marketing is application of social welfare concept that gave Marshall in economics. And if marketing works for society benefits in a country like Pakistan or other like India or Bangladesh where customer having low purchasing power then it will be customer ship in reality.
